Frequently Asked Questions
Why the name 'Earl Grey'?
I happen to think grey is a complimentary color, I love earl grey tea with a passion, and most importantly by far my father graced me with the nick-name Earl when I started playing basketball as a little girl and it has always been my favorite!
What kind of camera do you use?
I rock a Nikon D600 as my main camera and several lenses (always growing). I also have several old model film cameras and a small collection of instant cameras that I love to use whenever I can.
How far in advance should I book a session?
You can always contact me and check if my schedule is open for a session but the earlier you ask your chances of successfully scheduling significantly increase. Also, you will want to give yourself time to discuss details with me about pricing, contract, ideas, and letting me get to know what you have in mind so that I can do my best to give you the result you really want.
* Earl Grey Photography will be changing locations in January of 2014. I will be moving to England and that will make it very difficult to have photo shoots in the states
What is your policy on last minute cancellations?
Depending on the size of the session and just how 'last minute' it is you will be charged a cancellation fee that was agreed upon in our pre-session meeting. Exceptions may be made in extreme cases.
What if at our consultation I decide that you aren't my style?
Well then you tell me silly and if I can't accommodate you then I will recommend some of my very talented friends to you!
What if my child gets sick or we have bad weather on the day of my session? *not cancellation but reschedule
No problem.I understand this happens. Just please notify me as soon as you notice symptoms of illness so that I can reschedule your session for the nearest available open date. As for the weather, I certainly know neither of us has control over that and we will reschedule accordingly.
Can I book a session for a friend or family member as a gift?
Of course! Firstly, that is so sweet! Secondly, I suggest getting them a gift card for the amount of the type of session that you want to gift them with. This way they can schedule the shoot just as they would if they were buying it themselves just without the pesky act of paying ;)
